Wood types

At Bibby Fine Furniture we use solid hardwoods for all our furniture items. Where possible we use only locally sourced Canadian hardwoods such as oak, birch, maple, cherry and walnut. We can also source more exotic woods such as teak, iroko and other wood species if required. Please enquire if you have a special project in mind. If you are not sure about which wood species will be the best for your furniture item, feel free to contact us, so we can discuss the details. We are also happy to mail wood samples and stain samples to you at no cost, request them here.

At Bibby Fine Furniture we take special care in creating the absolute perfect finish and colour for your furniture item. We have our tested and favourite wood finishes which we can recommend, but we are also happy to assist in finding a custom look or finish for your furniture item. Different wood species respond differently to certain finishes and stains, so we can guide our clients in selecting the optimum wood species to create the perfect finished look.
